Latest just out: Julie Kelly: HOLD THE CHAMPAGNE JACK SMITH: Judge Cannon, as expected, just threw cold water on DOJ’s win in DC appellate court today. She grants in part Trump‘s request to unseal some discovery that Jack Smith wants to keep under wraps: see below
And of course, this is also just out…. No charges for the actual crime of Biden… and his classified docs in his garage.
In the ongoing legal proceedings involving former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case in Florida, special prosecutor Jack Smith’s office has opposed a motion by a coalition of local and national news media seeking to intervene. The Press Coalition, consisting of major outlets like The Associated Press, The New York Times, and NBC News, requested permission to participate in the case on January 22.
In a motion filed on February 5, prosecutors argued that the Press Coalition lacked standing, emphasizing that their interest in the case was “ancillary to the main proceedings.” They contended that the Press Coalition’s pursuit of transparency and access to information did not meet the standard for permissive intervention. Prosecutors asserted that the court was already positioned to determine the appropriate level of information disclosure based on submissions from the parties and existing legal precedents.
President Trump had previously advocated for the unsealing of records in a motion filed on January 16, and Mr. Smith’s office had already supported the unsealing with certain restrictions. Prosecutors, in a January 18 motion, backed the unsealing of specific records with redactions, focusing on safeguarding the identity of potential government witnesses mentioned in the defense’s motion.
To top off this whole soap opera, the Far-Left Jack Smith is actually arguing in court to withhold evidence from Trump. Can you believe this corrupt DOJ and Biden Admin? ‘Trump’s demand for additional discovery seems to have pushed Jack Smith’s team over the edge. In a ranty 67-page filing, Smith’s team “sets the record straight” arguing they are allowed to withhold evidence and that Trump’s defense has all the discovery they are entitled to under the law,’ said Robert Gouveia Esq. see vid below

The Press Coalition not only sought to participate in the legal proceedings but also requested an independent review of proposed redactions to ensure public confidence in the administration of justice. They specifically aimed to verify that the government’s proposed redactions were narrowly tailored to serve legitimate interests while being the least burdensome alternative to sealing the entire records.
Responding to this, prosecutors reiterated their commitment to transparency, stating that they fully supported it while emphasizing the need to balance concerns related to witness safety, national security, and the court’s protective order.

Prosecutors challenged the Press Coalition’s assertion of standing, arguing that the media’s more than a year of coverage of the legal saga did not establish the necessary elements for intervention. They contended that there was no federal law granting unconditional rights to news media to intervene and emphasized the lack of a non-statutory right in the Press Coalition’s case.
Furthermore, prosecutors argued that President Trump’s motion to unseal the records, filed on February 16, already addressed the Press Coalition’s request to unseal, making it moot. They asserted that the Press Coalition’s objective of encouraging the court to follow the law did not constitute grounds for intervention, as the court was already conducting an independent review.

The prosecutors addressed the Press Coalition’s request to be accepted as an amicus curiae (friend of the court), stating that such briefs are not common in district courts and should only be accepted when deemed helpful to the court. They recommended the court to deny the Press Coalition’s motion to intervene, leaving it to the court’s discretion regarding the acceptance of the coalition’s brief as amicus curiae.
The Press Coalition, in its pursuit of unsealing specific records favorable to President Trump, asserted its right to access court records, opposing any attempts to deny public access to records and proceedings. They emphasized the public nature of legal proceedings and argued for openness in this high-profile case.
I can't stop laughing. That's a real knee slapper. Jack Smith denies any political bias against Donald Trump. https://t.co/C3v1qScafA

The dispute over the documents began when President Trump’s legal team filed a motion on January 16 to compel discovery materials from the special prosecutor’s office, claiming evidence favorable to the defense was being withheld. The defense alleged political bias behind the prosecutions and sought unredacted information from 22 Freedom of Information Act releases, suggesting a political motivation behind the legal actions against the former president. The legal battle continues as the court navigates the balance between transparency, national security, and the administration of justice in this high-stakes case.
The witch hunt continues, and the Deep State Marxists in the Biden Admin will stop at nothing to destroy President Trump and American freedom in the process.
