Sicko Pedophiles Will Be Required to Undergo Chemical Castration Before Being Paroled in Alabama Thanks to New Bill

  • On Monday, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a controversial bill into law that will require incarcerated sex offenders to undergo chemical castration before they are paroled.
  • Prisoners who have been convicted of committing sex offenses against minors under the age of 13 must start medication to lower their sex drive about a month prior to being paroled.
  • Chemical castration is a treatment that is usually given in a tablet or by injection that “blocks testosterone production and affects a person’s sex drive.”
  • Since the treatment’s effects are normally reversed once treatment has ended, a court will decide when treatment is no longer needed.
  • The inmates will be responsible for paying for the medication.
  • Ivey said: “This is a step toward protecting children in Alabama.”
  • Republican Rep. Steve Hurst proposed the new bill and said: “What’s more inhumane than molesting a small, infant child?”
  • Hurst has pushed for the law for several years and doesn’t consider the bill inhumane. He previously supported surgical castration.
  • The ACLU has criticized the bill and says it is contradictory to the Eighth Amendment, which bans cruel and unusual punishment.
  • A law professor previously wrote: “Because chemical castration is designed both to shackle the mind and cripple the body of sex offenders, it is doubly cruel, and should be struck down as a violation of the Eighth Amendment.”
  • The executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama said: “It’s not clear that this actually has any effect and whether it’s even medically proven…When the state starts experimenting on people, I think it runs afoul of the Constitution.”
