Justice for All: Trump and Melania Pushing to Get Rapper A$AP Rocky Released from Swedish Jail that’ Been Described as ‘Horrific’

  • After pleas for help from celebrities and fans, President Trump and First Lady Melania announced they are working with Swedish authorities to get rapper A$AP Rocky freed from a Swedish jail where he has been held for the past 3 weeks.
  • In Sweden to perform, the rapper and two of his two associates were arrested in the country for what authorities considered assault. However, a video has gone viral that shows that two men were following the rapper’s group and instigated a confrontation.
  • A$AP and his attorney claimed he acted in self-defense after he repeatedly told the men to stop following him and his group.
  • The rapper’s attorney also claimed that the prison’s condition is “horrific.”
  • However, Swedish Ambassador to the U.S. Karin Olofsdotter said “reports that his prison conditions are inhumane are not accurate and denied that his arrest was racially motivated.”
  • Swedish authorities have continued to hold A$AP since they view him as a flight risk.
  • At the White House on Friday, Trump said “he has been called by many in the African American community about the arrest and indicated that his administration has already started speaking with Sweden about the incident.”
  • Trump said: “I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky, but I can tell you that he has tremendous support from the African American community in this country.”
  • Trump added: “And when I say African American, I think I can really say from everybody in this country, because we’re all one.”
  • “I have been called by so many people asking me to help A$AP Rocky, actually the one who knew about A$AP Rocky was our first lady,” Trump said.
  • Melania confirmed: “Well, I’ll be working with the State Department, and we hope to get him home soon.”
